Setting Up Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit) Lite

Download Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit) Lite from the Raspberry PI site.

In the same directory where the OS is open the terminal.

Upgrade and Update the OS

Once you have installed the OS its important to add any updates that are not on the OS you downloaded. In the terminal run. This may take sometime.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y

Install the Apache Web server. Type localhost in your browser to see if you are successfull.

sudo apt-get install apache2 -y

Install the php Programming Language

sudo apt-get install php -y

Install mariadb Database

sudo apt-get install mariadb-server

Log onto the database. If prompted for a password just press enter

sudo mysql -u root -p

Create a user for the database. And grant the user all priviledges

CREATE USER 'username'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON * . * TO 'username'@'localhost';
exit

Install phpmyadmin

sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin
